Ed Kingham
Ed Kingham started doing yoga in 2003 for the physical benefits, as is the case with many Americans. He began to see those benefits quite soon and started studying more seriously with a variety of teachers. This eventually led him to the mental aspects of yoga, meditation and spirituality. He has been studying Tibetan Buddhism since 2007, first with Steve Yochum, then Lama Sumati Marut and most recently with Brandy Davis and David Fishman in South Lake Tahoe.
The spirituality of Buddhism incorporates a logic that resonates with his western science trained mind. He retired in 2008 after 30 years of teaching college mathematics. He has found many positive rewards from his relatively short experience with yoga and Buddhism . Another added benefit is meeting an amazing group of people. Teaching is a way for him to learn the ideas better himself and help others who might have a similar curiousity as he does.
