Beverle Deerfoot Beverle Deerfoot has explored a broad range of meditation and spiritual traditions in her life: Christian prayer and spiritualism; shamanism; paganism; trance channeling; authentic movement and dance, to name a few. She has an educational background in art and clinical humanistic psychology

Her first formal Buddhist meditation training began with S. N. Goenka in the late 1980?s, which led to becoming a Theravada Buddhist nun in England for three years, under the guidance of Ajahn Sumedho, who was the first western student of the famed Thai meditation master, Ajahn Chah. In 2006, through another series of very fortunate events, she met her heart teacher, Lama Sumati Marut, and immediately began studies in Mahayana Buddhism. With additional support from Tassy Class and Sarah Class, she has joyfully completed the eighteen Asian Classics Institute courses as presented by Geshe Michael Roach.

Beverle maintains a practice in the healing arts of massage, Reiki, polarity therapy and foot reflexology. She has one son, Dylan, for whom she is immensely grateful.
